Artist: Karen Davidson

Hello, my name is Karen Davidson and I was born and raised in the wonderful state of  Alabama.

I met the love of my life, Dennis, while in HS in a small town called Prattville.

I attended Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida after we graduated but only                     for a brief time. *smile* Dennis asked me to be his bride during my Christmas break. Homesickness quickly set in and I soon came back home.  I went to work                        for the telephone company and Dennis and I married the following year.                                    Soon afterwards we went off on our travels around the country while Dennis was                        in the Army.

I gave up my dream of an art career for quite awhile as I blissfully went through                    life with my dear husband and children. We have 3 handsome sons, David, Brian and               our youngest Jeff. Our oldest, David, is now married to a wonderful young lady, Amy,             and they have the apple of my eye, my 9 year old granddaughter Madison and 3 year old Jacob.  David and Amy are both nurses at a local nursing home.  Brian is now living in            Las Vegas where he is a computer technician. Our youngest, Jeff, is attending the            College of Engineering at the University of of Alabama and recently married his              beautiful  bride Lolly in October.

My life long dream of owning my own art gallery finally came true for me in April of '97.       My then partner, Jessie LaVon, and I had a gallery in the historic downtown district of Demopolis, Alabama. It's a small Southern town nestled beside two rivers which make             for great fishing. I now have my own gallery which I love to fill with art, gifts, jewelry and collectibles. Dennis got involved more when I put him to work in the custom framing     business side of it.  He enjoys working with his hands so it has been a great team effort        with us both.

I enjoy many activities involving art and community service. Besides working at the    gallery creating and teaching art, I am very involved with out church and community.               My husband and I are members of a community singers group that perform several times          a year.  We are also very active with our church, First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis,         as choir members and Dennis is a Deacon. You can visit our website at http://www.demopolispresbyterian.com, another of my pet projects. :o)

I love to try different kinds of crafts and art mediums. There aren't too many kinds that I haven't tried as my wonderfully patient husband would confirm. *smile*
